A thought I’ve had after owning my 1TB 14 Pro Max for more than half a year now.

I have treated my phone as a portable offline jukebox and media device (no music or video subscriptions). Looking at my storage, it seems to be holding steady around 350GB.

I might opt for a 512 if I want to get the iPhone 20-something in 5+ years from now.

I do not have a 1TB iPhone, but that is because my primary is the 11 Pro Max and it only goes up to 512GB.

That said, for every iPhone I've every purchased I always get the max capacity offered.

iPhone 5, 64GB
iPhone 6+ 128GB
iPhone 6s+ 128GB
iPhone 11 Pro Max 512GB.

I don't upgrade very often, so I want the max. When my next upgrade happens that'll be 1TB or more.

Note - I also have a 2TB sub with Apple and a 4TB sub with Dropbox. And none of my music is stored on my device.

So, it's really a matter of 'I want it' and not 'I need it'.
