While overall performance of contacts is improved, a sutstantial lag still exists upon opening the contacts application in 2.1. Nothing like 1.0.

Who else is finding this???

Yup, I still have the lag. Cannot scroll for a few seconds after opening contacts.

I don't get it

I don't understand why that lag exists. it's not a big deal but when you get used to something, then t slows, you feel like the piece of technology has turned to crap.

Hi,

I'm the developer of ABContacts and ABContacts lite apps.
I think the lags depends on how the address book archive is accessed. I experience that on my apps too so it has to depend on how the contacts are stored on the phone.

If it can help I've seen that big contact groups are also VERY slow, even slower than All contacts to open. BTW my apps uses some caching to be quickier but I'm still sure that it can be a lot better if some work is done on the contacts database optimization (unfortunately something I can't do as a developer :( )

Just open your contacts from the favorites window (Double click home button, then go to contacts) Fast, easy to get to, no lag, problem solved.

One of two things is causing your problem. You have an old version of iTunes...upgrade to 8.0

You have outdated drivers...either a printer or webcam. Check and update all peripheral drivers or uninstall the devices.

Good Luck

mine is much better then in 2.0.2 etc. Before it would take 2-3 seconds to load the contacts, then a further 5 seconds till i could scroll and another 5-7 seconds before a contact would open after it was touched. However now it just takes 1 or 2 seconds to load contacts and thats it. Im happy

You might be right about this... my contacts are from Exchange. Are these actually stored on the phone? Or does it connect to Exchange to get the list?

Also, the records are fairly detailed (address, phone, website, notes). Even though contacts only show first, last names in the list, I wonder if it takes longer to parse that data out of the rest of it.
