Not sure exactly where to post this, but just had a concerning popup on my computer. I got a bluetooth connection request from my Macbook Pro, but the computer isn't even on and hasn't been for a day or so. The popup box disappeared after about 20 seconds. I didn't get to screenshot it, but the attached picture looks similar to the dialog box that popped up.

Is this a glitch or should I be worried about some spoofing hack?

Bluetooth only works over a fairly short distance-about 10 yards or so.
Were you somewhere public like a café or something because if someone were trying to hack you on bluetooth they'd have to be quite close? If you weren't then I think it's pretty unlikely.
But if you were then it could have been someone sitting nearby searching for a connection and chancing their luck.
Also, from what I understand, it doesn't ask for your permission when they hack in they just do it, but it's pretty much only on Android and also I think it's historic and been patched now.
That's as much as I've got sorry I can't be more helpful. An odd one.

I was just sitting at home with my laptop in it's bag a few feet away. I had read about the Android thing as well, so was hoping this was just a glitch.

I guess your laptop just woke up to do something and tried to connect. They sometimes do that. Check if there's any program or setting that may be triggering it. Power nap activated or something like that

Interesting, because power nap is off. Didn't know there were other programs that could wake up the computer. Wake for wi-fi access is on but that's only for when it's connected to a power source.
