Sustained Gaming performance comparison between MBA 8 core M1 and MBP M1?

Is there a significant difference in sustained performance between MBA 8 core and MBP M1.

For Eg: playing league of legends or fortnite for 2 hours, will i notice the difference?

Can anyone who has or had both comment on this. I can't seem to find any YouTube videos on this

While you're waiting for something more specific, I have seen results posted here indicating that under heavy use the Air does eventually throttle, at ten minutes in a couple cases I saw, where the MBP kept on chugging at full speed. So it you plan to push it to its limit, you may need the fan.

Seems like it is better to go for the pro then.

Noone? I’ve seen Heaven results from 8/8 MBA dipping down to 1580 from 1750, so its around 10% throttle.
Some people say that 14W cpu+gpu MBA limit is more on CPU part than the GPU.
If anyone had both machines to do side by side heavy gaming or any combined sustained load with framerates, say WoW, Fortnite or Skylines

It's between a 10-15% throttle from all the videos I have seen. Not worth the extra money to me for the Pro, plus I prefer the Air's design and not having a fan.

But 7/8 MBA throttled almost 30%, so there must be some binning, higher tdp limit or somehow.

8/8 mba is 50$ to mbp.
Mbp has 20% bigger battery, brightness, better sound and 100% sustained performance without throttling.
That makes 8/8 mba vs mbp question relevant, since 50$ difference would play well for buying mbp, unless 8/8 mba sustained performance is somehow on par with basic mbp.

For that $50 difference going to the MBP, don’t you also drop down from 512GB SSD to 256GB?

Yeah it's about $250 as you lose storage? If it was only $50 i'd have gone pro

I still went pro, as I’ll be using it for 3D work.

When compared to previous generations and other systems, 10-15% improvement is meaningful. Intel iGPUs have jumped that little for a couple gens before Tiger Lake, and Nvidia dGPUs jumped that little from 20-series to 20s-Super.

But yeah certainly in contrast 20-30% is a proper jump.
