Gazelle is excellent for a largely Apple centric site.
Conversely Swappa serves the Android community well.

I've used both multiple times with great success and complete satisfaction.

I've used Gazelle twice. They seem to work pretty well.

Swappa is nothing like gazelle. Swappa is for individuals buying and selling phones. Gazelle just buys your phone at a low ball price.

Is Gazelle just for selling ones phone to them and not for buying phones from them or individuals like swappa ?

It depends what you mean by "similar" as a large portion of people go to Gazelle and Swappa for the same reason. Depending on what you are looking to do and what level of convenience you would like, Gazelle is a good choice.

I have bought and sold phones on Swappa. Swappa is the better choice…you will get a great price plus more selection if you are buying. They have all carriers and a section just for unlocked phones and tablets. Plus you can buy phones that are already rooted and rommed if that is what you are looking for..
Prices are competitive and seller and buyers build a reputation and get feedback. The IMEI is verified as well so no blacklisted phones…..

Totally agree. I have used swappa and got way more than gazelle would give me. Plus I would buy there before Craigslist.

oh and one thing i forgot……
Swappa does an IMEI/ESN check before you can sell on their site. So it will see if anything is blacklisted anywhere. It will also tell you if there is a balance or loan from the carrier on the phone.

Swappa is good but everytime I post and ad in bold letters up front I let people know no buyers outside the US and I always have people who use a freight forwarding address in the US trying to buy

I'm assuming he meant it was dangerous to his wallet because he has done a lot of transactions there not dangerous because you'll get ripped off.

Right you are and I just bought another smartphone from that resource shortly after I posted my "danger" warning! :) Damn!

I do have a buyer though for my HTC One, still debating whether I'm going to keep it since I'm in heaven (for now) with my Note 3.

I'll give a hint. What I bought wasn't an android smartphone even though I've stated many times I would not go to that other OS and purchase one. Damn!

Oh I didn't know that, nice. I just bought a Note 3 off of Swappa and must say I was very pleased with the transaction. My only concern was a balance with the carrier resulting in the phone being blacklisted in the future, but this piece of info means I don't have to worry about that.
