Swapping HDD

I am curious can I replace the 500 gb drive inside the 24" with a 36 gb Raptor drive? Reason why I am asking, seeing I'd rather have the 500 gb drive as a backup. I did not think about it when I was ordering, and did not think about it until it was too late.

If it is possible, what kind of enclosure should I get for the 500 gb drive? Probably a SATA one right.

Also another thing, how hard is it to removed a HDD from a Lacie drive? Seeing if I use 2, 500 gb I can make a an external raid.

So far can't find a dual-drive enclosure that would take a SATA and IDE drive. Seeing I think my 500gb Lacie drive IDE.

I really don't see the point of you doing this.

Is it really worth losing your warranty over?

500G drives are $150 or so. Not worth the effort, let alone the risk.
