I have a mid-2012 MacBook Pro I had bought for parts (needed the display to fix another MBP). It doesn't power up, which likely means the small power board is is bad.
Now I also have a working mid-2009 MBP and I was wondering if I could just swap out the motherboard from the 2012 to the 2009 to give me an upgraded system. It would be quicker that swapping the power board and display from the 2009 to the 2012, especially if I'm hooking up the 2012's motherboard to test if that is still working.
I'd think the major differences (if any) would be the arrangement of ports, or any wifi/camera connections.
