swapping out ram from a 2008 Mac Pro

I have 1x8GB, 1x4GB GB RAM from a 2008 Mac (which has just died). Can I use them in either a 2006 or 2010 Mac Pro?

definetly not in the 2010, which uses DDR3. not sure bout the 2006 because it used DDR2 667MHz RAM

Hmm. OK thanks for that. I'll find a 2006 to try it on.

EDIT: This article suggests that it should work.
