I have an iPhone 8 Plus running iOS 11.2.1. I want to reset it to factory settings and then restore my wife's account to this phone and my phone to her iPhone 7 Plus.

The restrictions password is set on my phone. Will it allow me to reset to factory settings and then restore my wife's account to this phone?

I'm having to trade phones with her for a bit as we have service through AT&T, but I'm traveling to a place without AT&T coverage, so I've got a SIM card from a different phone company, but since my phone is on a NEXT plan, it isn't unlocked so I can't put another company's SIM card in my iPhone 8. My wife's iPhone 7 is paid off.

Back up your wife’s iPhone and yours. Use erase all content and settings on your iPhone and restore using your wife’s backup afterward. Once erased, it will clear all settings and user data even the restriction. If you want, you can disable the restriction before you erase it.

If your wife’s iPhone is paid off, make sure it is unlocked by inserting a non-AT&T SIM card. If it is not unlocked as yet, request AT&T to unlock the device before you travel. Unlock can take up to a week to finalize.

I can’t disable the restriction before I erase it because I don’t remember the restrictions password.

When I restore my phone settings to my wife’s phone, will the restrictions password be wiped out??
