I own a 2012 Mac Mini with 4gb RAM (2x2). I just got a 2011 Mac Mini used that has 8gb RAM (2x4). Is it possible to swap the 8gb RAM from the 2011 to my 2012? And put the 4gb from the 2012 into the 2011?

I'm not familiar with voltage and what all the other numbers mean, so I'm not sure.

The 2012 has PC3-12800S-11-11-B2 written on it.

The 2011 has PC3-10600S-9-11-FP written on it.

Any advice would be appreciated!!

Its always worth a test. I've never heard of memory sticks that have been damaged while being tested on systems that don't have the exact correct mhz. Worst case it/they won't boot up then its just to swap back.

Thanks Joel for the reply. I went ahead and switch them out, and am testing it out now. Hopefully I won't run into any issues ahead!
