Does anybody out there know if Apple is going to include an update that will allow the iPhone to view SWF files?

Do you figure that if you ask the question without actually using the word Flash that it'll somehow be a different answer? There are rumors flying, but it's hard to say. Apple worked hard to make the core things the iPhone does work without Flash.

Whatever you prefer calling it, you must admit that the ability to enjoy flash files would enhance the iPhone experience, especially when browsing what some people call "the internet"

I don't know that, I rarely go to sites that use flash, or use it in a way that I notice, as I have gone to most sites with the iPhone and noticed no lack of function. Not saying it wouldn't be good, but not sure it would be a life changing event either.

Right now I don't care if they add it or not.

Havn't tried any web apps yet. I also would rather have real apps then flash on the iPhone.

I don't have an iPhone, but from what I've seen using them at the Apple Store and viewing them in Safari, the webapps are really surprisingly good. Some of them are even phenomenal. I'm not saying real apps aren't important. I was just pleasantly surprised, because I expected the webapps to be a waste of time. After trying them, though, I think it's definitely worth finding a good launcher (I think this one seems really nice) and storing a few key ones on your phone.

I did not say that the web apps were bad or not useful, just that I did not use them. If its not on the home screen I don' think about it , I guess.
