I too am very interested in this and have been casually looking for a while now. Hopefully more options will start hitting the market once swimming with your watch becomes more popular.
Keep in mind that water pretty effectively kills a Bluetooth signal. I've been using a life proof case for years now and often swim with my phone. I tried using a Bluetooth speaker at the pool and even if the phone is submerged an inch or two in the water the speaker would lose its Bluetooth connection. Unless you can manage to keep your watch out of the water as you swim I doubt that Bluetooth headphones would work
Very good point. So wired headphone is better? But won't wire get in the way of your strokes?

because that's very different to the maximum 2ft that your watch and headphones will be separated by at any given time.
No, this is with the phone and speaker right next to each other. One foot of air and one inch of water was enough to kill the connection. Like I said above, unfortunately water just kills the signal.

What I use is a Sony underwater walkman. So it's different but you connect the headphones to your computer and transfer some of your songs to it. It can take MP3s and itune format songs too. (not apple music or spotify though).
The headphones just go around your head and there are no wires. It was about 50£ when i bought it last year. if there was a bluetooth headphone option, i'd rather use that and have my iphone on a chair near by or something but as someone has pointed out, bluetooth and water don't mix. i find the sony underwater walkman isn't a bad option though.

i'm still not sure i get it... the speaker is floating in the water?
what version of bluetooth does the speaker use? a bluetooth 2 speaker would have worse performance than bluetooth 4 hardware,
I'm not sure the bluetooth signal will work well in the water either.
I use a waterproofed iPod Shuffle (by waterfi) with their earbuds. It works really well for me. I've had the shuffle for a couple of years now, no problems, charge lasts for ever.
Their earbuds have the added benefit of keeping water out which helps when going out in the cold after.
I clip it all to the back of my goggles.
Waterfi sells directly or thru Amazon. If you sign up, you'll get notices about discounts. I have their waterproofed Kindle and love it too.

I have the same question and I am not looking for headphones with an MP3 built in or ones with a cord. To use it with the watch, it has to be bluetooth and waterproof. None of these meet that criteria and are therefore not good to use with the Apple watch.
I tested with Airpods, and as soon as I put my arm in the water the Bluetooth signal were cutoff. I originally want to test if I can swim with airpods(I know it’s not waterproof, just part of the test for my video), and once I found out the signal can’t even travel through water I stop the test, which might have saved me from ruin my airpods.
Bragi Dash’s way to solve this problem is to have local music storage on their wireless earbuds, and also have activity tracker on it. But then it can’t communicate with your Apple Watch.

Besides, the noise that water turbulence makes totally ruins the experience. I used to have a speedo fm receiver with wired earphones and gave it up because of that.
