So, the video on ML mentions that you can swipe to the left for the notifications menu.

First of all, the girl doesn't swipe her fingers on the trackpad....she definitely touches the body of her MBA to make the notifications pop up....omg, new feature?!?! :p

Seriously though, how do we scroll through mission control spaces now?

You can also see her hand move at a diagonal when she is moving the cursor to click on a notification, yet the cursor itself goes straight up. "Screen shots are visualized and may not depict the actual function of the system." They should really put that as a disclaimer at the bottom.

actually if you look closely, you can see the girl begin to slide her fingers toward the trackpad to activate Notification center. Having used ML I can say that this is the best way to activate the NC since the trackpad registers when 2 fingers enter the trackpad are at the same time from the side.

In regards to the swiping back and forth in Launchpad and other places where you use 2 fingers, as long as your fingers don't leave the trackpad on the right side, then scrolling will work without any problems, like it has since Lion.
