Add the following repo source to your installer on a Jailbroken iPhone: swirlyspace.com/SwirlySpace.xml
Make sure you spell correctly. This means that capital letters etc also have to be exactly as above!!!!

Note: you also have to call AT&T to enable MMS per use ($.25/ea.) -- tell them you sometimes use your SIM w/other phones, since they will claim iPhone cannot do MMS...

Here's the settings you need:
http://www.swirlyspace.com/iphone/apps/mms/settings.html

In Installer, goto Sources, then click Edit in upper right, then click Add in upper left...

This assumes you already did the jailbreak and have Installer 3.0.1...

thats coool...but how do you add sources?!

As a favor to those of us that don't haven't jailbroken our phones could you post a screenshot of how the iPhone shows MMS messages?

Also keep in mind if you are going to do this that you will have to call At&t frequently because the system will eventually recognize that you have a iPhone and remove MMS automatically. Nothing you can do about that. Thanks for posting this but Ill stick with good ol email to send pics.

This is still in beta, can send and receive, but there is no way to view received images w/o MobileFinder and MobileViewer. Also this more meant for those of us who like cheap data/voice plans and use something like T-Mobile :)

Here's a couple showing it working in Beijing China:

Just goto http://ziphone.org to d/l the jailbreak app -- it is less than 1 minute once you click the button.

That's pretty neat, thanks.

As for jailbreaking, I just don't see any reason to. My iPhone does everything I want it to right now, and the couple of fixes I'd like to see will only be implemented through Apple (ie, full bluetooth support, so I can use one of the tiny wireless aluminum keyboards with my iPhone to take notes in class).

Got it working on Rogers... Finally! MMS was one thing that always pissed me off about this "multimedia device"

I can send an MMS (on Orange UK) and have even received two MMSs back ... however, I can't see the images? How can the received images be viewed? (I have 0.3.3)

Thanks

Thanks, saw it immediately after I wrote my message - typical!

Another thing ... it could be a coincidence, but, since I installed SwirlyMMS and MobileFinder and MobilePreview, when rebooting my iPhone after the apple logo has gone, i get a screen of white and black lines for 2 seconds then I arrive at springboard (my heart obviously skipped a beat the first time i saw it!)

Also, since installing these apps (and again, it could be a coincidence), my v-moda dual headphones are no longer able to communicate with iPod ... I used to be able to pause and skip tracks by pressing the little button on the headphones (which I was just starting to get used to!).

Is it possible that Swirly, Finder and Preview have interfered or is it just one of those things?!

(iPhone on 1.1.3 JB with ZiPhone 2.4, Swirly is 0.3.3 and MobileFinder is v1.8.0)

Thanks

Update

Hmmm, headphones seem to be working again ... the little button happily pauses and skips tunes now ... v strange?!?

Does everyone else keep getting the same message day after day? It's like it doesn't send any kind of ACK message back to say it's been delivered.

I have managed to send some pictures but can't receive any, I get errors on when fetching. 02 uk.

The application needs some refinement but it is good to see it progressing and is an improvement over 0.2.2 which would just crash on my iPhone.

Woot Woot!

Props to the developers!

I got an error (with t-mobile) but after messing with the proxy settings I finally got it to work...

Can't wait till you can view the photos from within the app, but this is far better than not receiving any MMSs
