Switch from MBP Lion to 2011 iMac

Hi guys, I'm running my MBP with the dev preview of Lion, but just bought a new iMac.
The MBP is backed up via time machine, but I know that I can't migrate from a newer OS to the older one... Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do?

Back up the old fashioned way- go through your files and folders backing up what you need to an external drive. Then copy and paste them onto the new OS.
