Bah , Guys, help me out here. Ordered an iMac(2.4, 20") 1 week ago - The imac isn't sent from china yet but i guess it will after the weekend. They think is, i'm getting second thoughts :( .

If the graphics isn't that great on imac, means that you probably wont play "that" much on the imac. And the mini 2.0 got the same points as the low end mac in macworld's tests but without a graphic card - the thing is though... The ac mini is 120-130% cheaper. I got at 17" monitor at the moment which i was thinkg of connecting to my "comming" imac to get a second monitor.

But would it be more wise just getting the mac mini? (in the future i will probably use the imac / mac mini as htpc as well, i know that the imac can handle 1080p videos with ease, but can mac mini?

Thoughts: If i go mini i will loose - Hdd space, 20" screen, keyboard and mouse, not looose 700more dollar, 0.4 ghz processor.

Is the extra 700 dollar worth it? =( , what to choose?, help !

The iMac would be able to play most games at decent graphics.

And being the difference only $500, then the iMac would be a better choice. At least that is what I think. You get the possibility to put more RAM (if needed), bigger screen, larger HDD, and a very nice looking Mac.

I counted wrong, buying trough my student card in my country the imac will cost: (2,4ghz)
1 688,56 dollar

And the mac mini will cost:
696

Almost 1000 dollars difference !

I thought you were considering the 2.0GHz iMac.

The decision basically resides in what you want to do with your computer. If you really don't need the better graphic card, the more RAM capability, higher HDD, and larger screen, then the Mac Mini would be OK.

And it would be a good idea if you are in a short budget.

Mini and 23" ACD

Instead of the iMac I would get a Mac Mini and a 23" Cinema Display.
You will surely get a huge kick with that setup. Fast enough and a truly GREAT screen.
Much better then the glossy shaving mirror they put in the new iMac (a NT panel.... )

I actully love glossy screens, and TN is good enough for me (got one atm).
I've canceled my iMac order and will reorder when im 100% sure :p, The thing is, i got a dell laptop, and a "main" desktop computer. I mostly just surf the web, chat, play some "not high end games" and download stuff - It's a bit slow on the computers i got atm but i dunno if 1700 dollar is a price to pay for a little faster computer :(. Can't make up my mind =/ !

It depends. If your starting off into the Mac world, then the mini seems like a good choice. You'll save tons of money and you'll still get that Mac experience.
Plus it's notlike you'll be trapped forever. It's still a good basic computer for all your tasks and media. I only have like a gig of videos and 300 MB of music. I would definitely get the mini. And I so want one. :D
