PRODUCTS, PRODUCT, PRODUCTS.

For the PC guys, it's "make the switch" but for us Apple guys it's all about buying a new Mac. No upgrade options for last months fantastic "products". Just buy a new mac.

I must be a complete fool because I keep spending money on these new "products". I'm considering buying a new iMac Intel only because my iMac G5 won't support 802.11n. Am I a fool or is Apple the devil?

Seriously, I can upgrade a Toshiba from 2003 to have 802.11n. I can't think of any logical reason that Apple wouldn't make an 802.11n for the iMac G5... Unless they want you to buy the Intel.

Have you ever bought an Apple product and then next month it was obsolite and had no way to upgrade it?

1. iMac G5
2. iMac Core Duo
3. MacBook + gaeman tower

I gave up on Apple after the first two iMacs that I sold off for about a $200 loss after a year of use. I picked the Macbook so I could upgrade the hard drive and RAM myself. That's all the money Apple is getting from me for the next year or two.

No.

I usually try to buy Apple products right after they are announced, and are brand new with the latest features. I also do my research and make sure that the Apple product I buy will have some kind of upgrade option (assuming that upgrade ability is important to me).

It is easy to predict when new Apple products are due to come out. And when they are due to become discontinued/obsolete.

No...the only Mac I've bought so far is a G5 Power Mac from 4 years ago. Still happy with it; no intention of replacing it any time soon either.
