I am a in a bit of a conundrum. with rumors floating About the new bezel-less iPad, That seemed like a easy purchase, However with the lack of a press event, and the success of the Nintendo Switch, I am completely torn, and don't know which to purchase. And now the iPad might not be released until September. I hope there is a Press Event Soon!

What would you do on a switch? Play games? No thanks..

The tablet would be much more useful.

What do you plan on using it for? Keep in mind: the Switch doesn't even have a browser at the moment. If you need Internet, email, social network, steaming, etc., you want the iPad. If you want a console that can play Nintendo games and not do any of those other things, go with the Switch.

The very success of the Switch is a good argument for getting it. It should be easy to sell if you decide you don't want it anymore.

Seems like two pretty different things. It's like asking if you should get a new TV or a new fridge... Well, maybe not that different, but the question is, do you want a game console or a tablet?

Hmmm, should I buy a banana or a coffee cup? :p

Given Nintendo's history with game consoles why not wait? There aren't THAT many games available for the Switch, there are some design issues that will most likely be addressed in the 2nd gen and along with that a price drop.

Is there a reason you need to spend money ASAP?

Completely different devices.

iPad - I view this as a device that is optimal for web browsing, reading, and occasionally watching videos/NETFLIX. I think if you're a serious about gaming though then it's not up to much.

Now the Switch, that's got the potential to be a seriously good gaming device. I mean seriously good. The Nintendo 3DS is pretty damn good so if Nintendo really support the switch then it could be brilliant. I'd never expect to see particularly good tablet like abilities on the switch though. You'll get a measly YouTube app but that's about it.

I have a 9.7 Pro and Switch, like other have said they are very different devices. If you're after an 'all round' device go for the iPad it's far more flexible and there are some very good games. You could always get a controller for a more console like feel.

However if gaming is your priority then the Switch wins by a large margin. There's no game for iOS that comes anywhere close to Zelda. There are a few games available for iOS which are like Fast RMX, but again nowhere near as good. But the Switch will only play games, nothing else, that may or may not change in the future. Plus the Switch has a very limited catalog.

If I had to sell one though it would be the Switch as iPad is more useful.

If you just want to game then get the switch.

If you want to do anything else on your new device, get an iPad.

You really can't compare them as devices that can do similar things, or else you'd be lying to yourself ;)
