so far, i am very happy...and my wallet is too.
i finally came to the realization that i was not fully utilizing my mbp like i should have been. i don't do any video design and never will. my main function is audio related stuff. i use serato scratch live & ableton most of the time. on top of that, i do general web surfing, email, minimal graphics stuff, and that's really about it. the mb can handle all of that with no sweat.
sold my c2d mbp last week in anticipation of new mbp's. then i really thought about it hard and long; did i really need a mbp? not really. the mb is powerful enough to do everything i need it to do. i owned an ibook once and i said i would never own one again because they felt so cheap and plasticy. that is not the case with the new mb's. i've also owned about 4 different pb's/mbp's only because they feel very solid, love the aluminum casing, backlit keyboard, and the overall sexyness of them. but the black macbook really has grown on me since it came out. with last weeks updates, i decided to make the switch. glad i did. this is a great little portable!
only complaint so far is the sharp edges where my wrists are! not sure why apple didn't smooth them down a bit. other than that, this baby rocks!
i'll probably hold onto this until the ultraportable comes out that everyone is talking about. i have a 12" powerbook that my girlfriend won't give up because it's such a nice piece. i love that little notebook.
two thumbs up from a previous mbp owner!
