Switched to 3G S and lost my Mafia Wars profile!

So I switched over to a 3G S today and restored from backup. However, my Mafia Wars game started from scratch! I was level 92 too! Total bummer. Is there any way to load my ID again? There's no setting when you start the game to do it...think I'm screwed

I know that Storm8 which has racing live, and the guitar game and vampires live, and world war has a way for people who bought the 3gs to migrate their profile from their old phone. Don't know what anyone else is doing for this.

It sucks.. not sure how or if you would be able to get it back. They use the phone identifier, so there is no innate way for them to know. They would need to make a transfer mechanism to do it, like storm8 did.

Total bummer. I was hoping that when I opened the app, it would ask if I already had an ID.

Well, I suppose it's one way to get me to stop playing.

If you kept the old 1.0 version of the game you can level freely. It's kinda boring to tell you the truth. So if you lost your profile, you'll be up to lvl 90 in a week.

Thanks for that link. I sent them an email for support. We'll see if it does anything. Unfortunately, I don't have the UDID of the old device anymore.

Yeah, it was getting boring and I wouldn't be terribly upset if I couldn't get my profile back. It was more of a pride thing on the level I reached...lol

In the Godfather screen there is a button "Transfer your account to this device", if you have a username and password for the account you can transfer. It will cost you loyalty points but worth it.

That's weird. I don't have an option for that at all under Godfather on my iphone.

Odd.

Try installing the app like new and play until you can create a username, then see if it comes up under Godfather. I had already started a new account and while I was playing I noticed the transfer option.

Hmm. I didn't lose my profile. I hadn't played for a couple of weeks, but I just opened it when I saw this thread. I'm still there will all my info.

Maybe it's because I'm still playing on 1.0? I tried 1.1 when it was first released, but it was far too buggy so I deleted it from my phone and went back to 1.0 and I'm waiting (and waiting and waiting) for the next release.

I'm still missing 400+ mafia members, but at least it doesn't crash every few minutes.

Just a follow up... my profile's back and the support at zynga was pretty quick to get it restored. Kudo's to them! I think they just had to figure out how to do it but I didn't even need my old UDID. Cool.
