why are PC users always so stoked about Video Ram? I don't get it?

we love our video cards so very very very much!!! windows dosent do very well with graphical things we need all the extra help we can get, were just used to it. That was my biggest decision when switching, the 2ghz mbp or the 1.83 I didnt think 500 bucks was worth the better card it was a hard decision but I didnt want to over due my first mac. Also windows only has one main function Games, thats about it

Next question, how do I get my stuff from the PC to the mac, with a cross cable?
Welcome to the light side :) . And here's some more good news, you don't even need a crossover cable! Macs have an auto-sensing ethernet card which means any ethernet cable will work. Just turn on windows sharing on the mac and drag everything over to it from the pc.

Welcome goormart!

I did it the other way since I don't want to sully the Mac. Turn on sharing on the PC and drag the files over from the Mac. It's OK for a Mac to be a client on a Windows machine, but to stoop to the level of serving as an CIFS server. Never!

I just switched a few weeks ago (actually, currently finishing my switch, I'm working on to get rid of my desktop PC completely tomorrow). You're gonna love your iMac :) I hope you ordered some extra RAM too.

Today I bought my first mac. A 20" imac with 256 vram! It will be shipped next week, and I can't wait! I'm so excited :)
Ha! We now have you...
You will do what we say...
do not attempt to change the dial.....

Welcome fellow switcher, you've made one decision you definitely won't regret. I switched a week ago and I've already become so acclimated to OS X that it's hard to use my Windows pc.

The iMac G5/intel has something magical to it. When i switch my brother it took many long discussions for me to make him consider a mac computer. Strange thing is even thou he loved the software which has years ahead of what he was doign on a windows, he loved the hardware more.

Very jealous. I desperate need a new computer before I start grad school in the Fall, so I'm saving my pennies. Of course, since I'll be a poor grad student, I need to save pennies for LOTS of things...

Wow, nice purchase for a first-timer. Good luck with the machine and congrats! You'll love it. As for "PC switchers" being high on the VRAM, it's probably because of gaming. I used to be like that. But games actually run okay on this iBook with 32MB.
