Somewhere out there
I ultimatly switched from OS/2 to OSX. I used 9 for a time, but, like you, I found it a nice toy OS. No power that is common in today's computers.

As far as your friend is concerned, he is very happy with Mac, and the power that he has available to him in his apps are satisfactory. Furthermore, he is a long time Mac user, and the interface in 9 is basically a tweaked version of the OS intoduced in 1984. He is used to it, and very comfortable with it. He really has no reason to switch, as the OS is not a factor in his computer usage. OSX is superior if you are comparing OSs. For some OS9 is superior when just doing work on thier computer ( the user experience ).

hm...

it sounds like you have started a new thread in reply to my post...

I completely agree with you but that was not the issue. My friend felt it was a superior OS which I find hard to believe. The reason I asked was that I don't have enough experience in 9 to really argue that point...

OSX Blows away nine, and those that dont know dont have enough memory or cpu to see this. I would never think of 9 anymore. OSX rules and there is no comparison.
