For some reason I cannot get a good 3G reception in my home. I can't make calls, texts, and forget about data. I called Apple and we troubleshooted the problem as a bad 3G reception. Everywhere else it works great, but at my home I have to switch to Edge.

I don't mind using Edge, phone calls work fine, but texts are a little slower and when MMS comes out, could certainly be a problem.

Does anybody switch from 3G to Edge and vice versa as much as I will? I know its not a big "problem" just can be tedious. Is there an app, or trick to somehow automatically do this? I can't think of anything and I seriously doubt there is, I just wanted to make sure.

Well my first comment would be why are you using 3G or Edge at home?
Do you not use Wifi at home? Sooo much faster...

As far as your original question... if you're jailbroken then you can install this little utility app called SBSettings that has some great features. One of them happens to be an easy access interface (onetouch from just about any iPhone screen) that allows you to toggle on/off different services including Edge, 3G & WiFi.

I don't know of any other apps that allow this control... but certainly they may exist.
