I am really tempted to buy my first Apple computer ever, which would be the new iMac 21.5 i5 (US$ 1199). The performance figures seem to be outstanding.
The point is: only one year ago I´ve bought a Sony Vaio 16.4 Core Duo, basically as a desktop replacement, and I´m still happy with its speed, with its LCD Full HD screen (the dot pitch is similar to that of the iPad), with its blu ray drive. The only problem is that sometimes it crashes with many apps running parallel. My main use for it is photography editing (Photoshop and Lightroom).
Should I switch to an iMac 21.5? (27 is way too big for my desk)
Cons: I would lose the BD-ROM drive and there wouldn´t be any resolution upgrade (1920x1080)
Pros: I would gain in speed and probably in system stability.
Abandoning Windows is not an easy decision... and my Vaio was bought only 1 year ago...
Any thoughts of additional pros and cons would be helpful.
Thank you!
