Has anyone else experienced not being able to switch freely between all 3 rear cameras while shooting video? I noticed this soon after I got the 11 Pro as I was playing with the camera settings.
I had the video quality set to 4K 60 and noticed that if I started shooting video using the 1x lens, I could not zoom out to the 0.5x lens while shooting. The "wheel" that pops up to select the focal length has the 0.5x lens grayed out. I could, however, zoom in to 2x on the fly while shooting. Similarly, if I started shooting using the 0.5x lens, I could only zoom in to the 1x lens on the fly. The 2x option was grayed out. If I start shooting using the 2x lens, I am unable to zoom out to the 1x or 0.5x lens on the fly while shooting.
Thinking that it might be a limitation of shooting 4K 60, I downgraded the video quality to the other options in settings, but the above behavior persists at all quality/frame rates. At this point I'm not sure if this is a bug, hardware defect, intended behavior, or due to a camera setting that needs to be toggled (that isn't clear, which unfortunately is something Apple has trended towards).
This behavior occurs in the native Camera App, but also in a 3rd party camera app as well.
