I travel frequently between the US, Europe, and Asia. The international calling rates from a european to european number are expesive using the AT&T interenational plan. Can I purchase a sim card in Europe and then interchange them based upon which continent I'm on. I too am waiting for a Skype, Fring, iCall app to come out that's cheaper than TRUPHONE but those may only be for wireless networks.

I don't know the status of your iphone. Need version and jailbroken status.
With my jailbroken 1.1.4 iphone, I was able to get local sim cards in each country while I was in Hong Kong, Beijing and London. Works great. I'm using T-Mobile in US now. I can't confirm the other countries.
