I don't know if this is the appropriate forum to ask this question.
I am a high school teacher and I had enough of Windows (and Linux comps are not for me -already tried them), so I'm switching to Mac. That's for sure. I love the iMac. But I don't want to lose all my presentations, exams, exercises, handouts, and all the thousands of documents related to my job, all of them in Microsoft Office formats. BTW I don't want to lose my personal photos either, but since they use the .jpeg extension I suppose there will be no problem there.
Together with that, my school uses Windows and Linux. Will it be difficult to use my Mac home and use the files at work? Should I rather buy a Macbook to avoid compatibility problems? Anyway, I'll wait until next week for the San Francisco keynote, just in case...
