I have an original iPhone (2.2.1 firmware) that I just unlocked using QuickPWN v2.2.5. I am going to be testing a T-Mobile SIM later today, but I have some questions.

I have read a bunch of stuff about using T-Mobile's T-Zones internet for the iPhone. I would like to know if anyone can point me to a good how-to site for this. I heard you have to add/modify some files, etc.

If anyone is currently using an original iPhone with (2.2.1) *and* using T-Mobile and T-Zones for internet, please reply, and if you could give me a step-by-step of what to do to get it to work, that would be appreciated!

Any help will be appreciated.

From my experience you have to be on a paid plan to get TZone internet. You can't do it with Pay as you Go. You can do it with a Flexpay or regular contact account.

Although I don't think they offer the $5.99 tzones anymore since the G1 came out.

If you do have it, I've noticed you don't need the tzone hack anymore. All you have to do is go into the Network settings and set the APN to epc.tmobile.com and leave the rest blank.

You might have to reboot or just cycle the airplane mode off and back on, but it should work after that.

I'm still using the $5.99 tzones on my flexpay account and its working great.

Good luck
