Hi,
I've ordered the Syba card but am considering returning it for the ADWITS Quad. Has anyone run a comparison of these two cards' performance? I do like the ability to run 4 blades on one PCI slot.

How do these cards work, anyway? Would more blades on a 16x PCI slot "steal" throughput from each blade? For example, if you were doing read and write on both blades, would each blade receive half of the PCI bandwidth? Would the blades on the dual IOCrest card each receive half of the bandwidth? And in the case of the ADWITS Quard card, would each blade receive 1/4 of the bandwidth?

(Or the RIITOP card.)

Yep, same ASM2824... but the Syba has two ssd drives and the ADWITS has four, so would the ADWITS be slower?

Same ASMedia ASM2824 8x controller, same shared speed when accessing one blade. Only when accessing all blades simultaneously, it will be slower.

ADWITS/RITOP has a very small heatsink on the ASM2824. Bet it's too hot to touch even at idle. I've converted my 2-slot Syba to use a passive heatsink on the ASM2824, and the heatsink I had to use is massive. I'd expect the card to be unstable or quit working under heavy use and not have a very long life.

Thanks everyone - I ended up with the Highpoint, I wasn't aware of prior to this post.
