Turning on iCloud contact syncing turns off Google contact syncing. Is there any way to get it working so you can sync with both? I prefer iCloud, but I rely heavily on Google having my contacts, particularly for Google Voice. The only workaround I can think of (and I'm not even sure it would work) is to sync my contacts from my Mac to my iPod via regular sync (NOT iCloud or Google), and then have my iPod sync to iCloud and my Mac sync to Google. That's just messy though.

Anyone have any other ideas?

i tried getting this to work when i trialed mobileme a year or so ago.

i eventually gave up and decided that standardizing on google's services (calendar/contacts/gmail/etc) was easier, even across two macs and two ios devices. (and i still had the ability to also sync w/ my work blackberry and exchange/outlook).

while i don't have a lot of time to dedicate to it, i started looking at the issue again last night and i don't think anything has changed.

out of the box, there's really no way to keep these two services in sync.

and, as much as i want to leverage icloud for this, it just doesn't appear to be flexible enough to do what i really want it to do.

i'll try to look deeper into it this weekend.
