hey guys,

have a little issue here where i need some help.

I have been purchasing a lot of movies/shows with itunes store account-A via the appleTV. At some time this account got disabled.
I have registered another account-B and kept on buying content on the appleTV.

Now the ATV is full and i need to sync it to my itunes.

i was only able to sync stuff i have purchased with account-B.
account-A will not sync. even when loggin in with account-A on both the ATV and itunes, nothing.

any ideas how to solve this?

using ATV v.3.0
PC itunes 9.0.2.25

in itunes under account-A details it says:
"Computer Authorizations: One machine is authorized to play content purchased with this account"

account-B hast 2 machines -> can this be it? how do i change this?

thx in advance

not really an answer to your question, but if you can't figure out how to get the sync to work, you could probably SSH into the ATV and copy the files back to the iTunes library on your computer.

thanks for the reply.

yup that was my "backup-solution" as well.

It sounds like your apple tv forgot that it was authorized with itunes for account A. Since you can log into iTunes with account A, I take it you still remember the login credentials.

On the computer that syncs with your Apple TV (make sure your Apple TV is visible in the library) in iTunes go to Store and select Authorize computer. Use the credentials for account A. If it tells you that the computer is already authorized. Deauthorize with account A and then Reauthorize with account A.

Now sync the Apple TV. In it's sync status it should say that its authorizing with the store for your account.

I know this works with active iTunes accounts, but I'm not sure what will happen since you indicated the account is inactive. Since you can log in, I'm assuming the account still works, but if it doesn't I'm not sure how that would affect the DRM content as I've never had an iTunes account permanently disabled. Let me know if that helps!
