I just got my iPhone, and I've been searching around to see if there is a way to sync my google calendar w/ the iPhone calendar. I haven't found anything that will do this over the air. This is the only thing keeping me tied to a PC.

Any help?

I don't know if you are up for all this but I know there is an app called "NemusSync" you did however need a Jailbroken iPhone. I don't know if you are wanting to Jailbreak your iPhone but if you are NemusSync is your answer. I don't know of anyway without Jailbreaking your iPhone.

Nuevasync

Try this:
http://www.nuevasync.com/

I know someone who uses it all the time - forgets he has it set up. You don't even need to load anything on your phone.

If you have multiple calendars, they will all show up as one on the iphone though...

Good luck!

I'm using nuevasync and it works great.

Their current version does do multiple calendars, but combines them all into one on the iPhone. They are working on a version that supports multiple calendars on the iPhone. It's hasn't been released out to the public yet.

Another vote for nuevasync. My wife has a Blackberry, and we both have google calendars that are shared. If either of us enters an appointment (via either of our phones or from any computer) it shows up on both calendars and both of our phones, automatically.

Works out great for me, since she's the one who's good at keeping track of important dates and appointments--I just have to check the calendar online or on my phone every now & then. :)

Need some help with Nuevasync.

I have two issues:

I am trying to set it up, but it comes up and wants to delete my calendars and contacts from the phone. Is there any way to prevent this? Right now, my phone is my "master copy" and if those get nuked, then I have nothing.

The other issue is, are we sure it is secure? I mean, you give it your email address and your google password. Keys to the kingdom so to speak.

This looks good, except I already have Exchange (for mail only) set up on my phone, and it only lets you have 1 Exchange acct set up at a time.

Well, I didn't wait for the answers.

I got this thing installed and it works GREAT.

It's like having MobileMe, but with your Google stuff.

The only difference between this and MobileMe is no PUSH for emails yet.

But updates to either Google or the Phone are zapped to the other pretty quick.

Okay, the contacts sync has a major flaw.

Seems the contact addresses on the phone dont show up on Google.

And if you then edit a Google contact, it wipes out the address on the phone.

My suggestion: Get a mac and use iCal, it's pretty amazing and I'm pretty sure you can hook it up to Goog Cal.

That's a ridiculously expensive suggestion. And not even an answer to the OP's question.

I can second the nuevasync for google cal, works wonderfully.

Just curious, is NuevaSync supposed to sync contacts as well mail and calendars?

Just FYI, Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) lets you sync your Google contacts with iPhone natively. :)

I've just set this up, and of course the iPhone has zapped all my contacts (SO annoying - why exactly did Apple put that "feature" in?) so I've gone down to only the e-mail addresses I had in my Google account - I'll sync my contacts back from my MacBook tonight.

This chap has written a good howto guide:

BUT he failed to mention that:

It appears that NuevoSync also supports Plaxo so I'm going to have a look at that as an alternative.

NuevaSync currently support Calendar and Contacts for Google.

Not the Email itself. (Yet)

I found this issue and then did the following to prove it to be GOOGLE'S ISSUE:

1) Exported Outlook contacts to a .csv

2) Imported to Google with the New Gmail layout and the address got stripped.

3) Erased Gmail contacts.

4) Clicked the Old Version link at the top of Gmail.

5) Imported the contacts again, and the addresses were there.

I think this is Google's issue, and not NuevaSync's.
