Something happened to my ipod where I can no longer sync it. When I'm in itunes, doing File > Sync iPod doesn't work, as "Sync iPod" is a faded, unclickable option. When I right click my iPod in itunes, it does not have any options about Syncing. I just updated itunes, and I did a menu+center button reset... Still nothing.

Ideas? Reinstall itunes?

Thanks!

Have you tried to restore the ipod and not just re-set it? Can you try a different ipod to see if that one would sync? Another thing you could try is to see if Sentui (an app that lets you take music from the ipod to the computer) sees your ipod. While I dont think it allows for syncing, it will isolate the issue to either the ipod or iTunes

Here is a link to Sentui if you do not have it installed

If neither of these work then you could try to re-install iTunes

In case you need instructions, here they are from Apple
