I had to wipe my phone entirely in order to get iOS 5 working, and now re-syncing is taking SO long. I don't remember from my original install... is it normal for 15.3 GB of music to take 7 hours to sync?

What wifi protocol do you have and how many devices are sharing it?

I figured wifi sync would be slower than USB, so I disabled wifi sync (for now) and plugged my phone in...

802.11n - 130Mbps to 270Mbps (dual channel; theoretical max).

USB 2.0 - 480Mpbs (theoretical max)

Wifi is fast but when moving really large sets of data, and comparing these two protocols, you're talking about almost 4 times the max speed with USB 2.0.

P.S. 15 gigabytes of music? I don't think it should take seven hours but depends on what else is taxing your network. Do you have other devices downloading apple updates right now?

I think you misread my post. I am NOT syncing by wifi, I am syncing by USB. Other things taxing my network doesn't enter into it. Also, did the math and at the current rate there's another 2.5 hours to go on this sync, and I'm at 7.5 hours now. So... 10 hours to sync my music to my iphone?? (iphone 4) this really doesn't seem right at all...

Yes, I did misread you at first. It does seem rather unusual. Via USB 2.0 it shouldn't even take an hour.
