Hi there

I have Snow Leopard installed on my Mac. I also have a virtual installation of Windows 7 in Fusion 3. In addition to that I have an iPod Touch 4.

If I was to install iOS 5 and use iCloud, could I sync my iPod Touch to my iTunes in Snow Leopard, when it is attached vis USB and wirelessly to my virtual Windows 7 iTunes? I get the impression that answer is yes because it would come under the 5 devices ruling.

This will of course waste disc space on my Macbook but I would like to make use of the wireless technology for syncing my calendars, yet there are times when I don't have windows 7 running because my memory is currently the official 4GB maximum and other programmes, such as Aperture, also require a fair amount of it.

I may soon unofficially increase my memory but for now because of the memory I have and some programmes I own being powerPC apps, I'd rather not upgrade to Lion at this stage.

I have of course sent feedback to Apple asking for Snow Leopard support and pointing out the vista support; Vista being an older programme than Snow Leopard.

iTunes is designed with the assumption that the devices sync to one computer. So, no, you would not want to sync both with the Mac and Windows. That's two "computers".

Thanks for the reply. I think I'll just wait and see what happens.

It would be interesting to see how many users of iPod Touches/iPhones and iPads run iTunes on the following platforms:
1. Windows Vista;
2. Windows 7;
3. Snow Leopard;
4. Lion

Apple must surely record such stats even if they don't make it publicly known.

I've done this with Windows and Mac, the primary problem I ran into is that the computers treat names differently. Windows tends to shorten names and replace special characters in files using different methods than the Mac. So you'll wind up with some missing files or duplicates.
