Hello,

I love reading books on iOS but I have many non-iBookstore books, is there a way how to sync progress, bookmarks etc. between iPad and iPhone in official iBooks app?

Depends on the app, but most major ones like kindle, nook, etc have those features built in.

I'm not sure exactly what you are trying to ask. The iBooks should sync all data between all iDevices under the same apple id. That goes with other applications as well as long as you are using the same id of theirs.

There's no way to sync bookmarks across from one app to the other, and it's redundant as you don't need to be switching apps to read the same book.

Unfortunately there isn't a way. I hope Apple allows this in iOS but we'll have to wait and see

He's asking for iBooks to let you sync epubs that you own that were not bought through Apple's store, or to let you sync pdf books that you own that were not bought through the Apple store. You might be able to do it with other Apps, but iBooks will only do it for the Apple Store purchased content.

It's doing that for me automatically. I don't see where your issue is, unless you have the features turned off.

Although if the book description metadata is different on the different iOS devices that could be an issue.

Actually I'm doing that with ebooks form various sources, including Baen books and Project Gutenberg. It works.
