Sync "Notes" -- what "Notes" ??

In the MobileMe Preference Pane, you can set "Notes" to sync.

What notes are those? Are those the Mail.app Notes? 'Cause wouldn't those "sync" through "push" Mail? Is it the iPhone/iPod touch notes from the "Notes" application? 'Cause if so, then what's the equivalent of those on the desktop??

Those used to be there before iPhone 2.0.... it's just the notes from mail/calendar and stuff... nothing iphony yet =(
