Sync the Ipad Question

I don't own a computer. My roommates do. If I must sync will this cause any problems, can i select not to download their stuff. Also, naming the device isn't done through the syncing process right? Thank you.

you should be fine. just register under your name / account when you plug it in for the first time, and make sure to uncheck the auto sync options for the different sections.... they should all be unchecked anyway. Once that is done, you are good to go. No need to sync again.
