Sync to new Mac without losing app folder layout

I got my new MBP today, because my Windows machine crashed and I lost everything.
So I had enough and bought a Mac.

I want to sync my iPhone with my MBP and not lose the folder layout of all my apps, I have nearly 200 apps so reorganising the apps is out of the question (unless it was a last ditch resort).

How can I sync my iPhone to my new Mac, bearing in mind I have no access to the files on my old PC.

I have already clicked 'Transfer Purchases' so have all the apps from my phone in iTunes on my Mac.

In iTunes, disable the sync upon connect so you have a chance to back up your folders and such before fully migrating to your new Mac entirely.

You will have the odd issue when you start using iPhoto (if you use your iPad for that feature) but as long as you can get a first backup before sync, you should be set!

Couldn't you also backup to iCloud, if you don't already and restore if needed from the cloud?

I have the same Issue.

I followed virtualgeo's instructions in this forum: https://discussions.apple.com/message/11527071#11527071#11527071

But, when I press "Sync Apps" in step 6), all my folders and file-arrangement gets lost! So instead of applying those changes i am forced to press revert, hence, the Sync Apps is still unchecked.

Any suggestion?

I'm in a similar boat. I've got an iMac with iTunes that is already syncing to 5 iOS devices. I want to start synching my wife's iPhone to it as well. I can keep all of her stuff easily enough but it completely ignores her app folder arrangement. This is absolutely maddening. Come on Apple, the iMac is authorized, they're on the same AppleID account, I've backed up and transferred purchases. But there is apparently no way to sync without manually redoing all the folders. That makes ****ing sense.
