As i understand it to sync my iPhone with Entourage I actually have to sync Entourage with iCal and then it syncs with my iPhone. If that's not accurate, please help me. I use Entourage and all I want to do is sync it with my iPhone; this includes calendar and contacts.

I actually have two issues.
1) I get double entries.
2) If I delete an event in Entourage's calendar it reappears.

Anyone have experience with this?

Me too...

I'm seeing double entries as well. I just started syncing my iPhone with 2 different computers and .Mac so I've got a lot of troubleshooting to do first before I can answer you, but I am trying the following:

1. I've made sure one Address Book (computer 1) is completely correct, then make sure I overwrite .Mac, my other Address Book (computer 2), then Entourage are sync'd.
2. Making sure I'm displaying Last Name, First Name in each of my address books across the board
3. I have temporarily disabled .Mac sync to see if I can isolate where it's syncing the double entry (right now so far, so good).
4. I am temporarily entering new data or editing existing data in my "master" Address Book (computer 1).

So far so good, but the problem sometimes took awhile to occur.

If I can figure out where the double entry is coming from, I'll let you know for sure. In the meantime, if by following some of my steps you figure it out before me, let me know and we can collaborate.

Hope that helps somewhat. --JflipB

Entourage calendar

jflipb

i think seancmason is talking about the calendar not the address book - i also get doubles in the entourage when adding to ical. but if i delete the double entry in entourage it actually deletes both entries as well as in ical. not good.

The sync isn't great. One thing to make sure of is that it's a one-way sync, and use only entourage to create/edit/delete events. syncing both ways seems to create problems.

Second, recurring events seem to create problems of duplicates (and triplicates and more). Entourage can make recurring events. iCal seems to handle them differently and not very well.

Eventually I gave up on entourage for scheduling, even though I prefer it to the apple suite of organizer software.
