My wife and I use google calendars, because
a) I can schedule items on her calendar, and vice versa.

Ideally mobileme would allow us to do this in the future. Is there anyway right now that we can sync google calendars with mobileme calendars?

I have plaxo (about to cancel it since it killed half my contacts lately (since comcast bought them)) and that is one way to do it. Have plaxo sync google calendar with outlook calendar, and then outlook syncs with mobileme at home. I do not like this method.

Is there an ical link that google calendar could link into? Any clever suggestions would be very appreciated.

I think you can "subscribe" to your google calendar in iCal. Go to google calendars - settings - calendar details, towards the bottom, there is a custom address for iCal, XML, etc. Copy that address, go to iCal, click on Calendar in the menu bar, subscribe, enter in the address from google. I haven't done this in a while and may not have the details right, just check the help files for some additional info.

I have no idea how this will interact with MobileMe.

Good luck and let us know if you get it working.

I'm similarly bewildered with Mobile Me, and have the exact same problem (i.e. Wife & me editing and viewing each other's calenders).

Worst of all, I can't invite people to a calendar event in Mobile me! (Google calendar does this very easily)

I do use BusySync on my mac, but obviously that will only work when my mac is switched on.

I think I may have to bide my time until either

A) Mobile me calendar adds the support for google calendar sync (not liekly)

B) A decent third part solution comes out (more likely)... but no doubt this will be an additional expense!

i'm holding off as well. the only way temp solution i see is using spanning sync - and then have each google calendar create a sub calendar on mobileme. but this is not instantaneous, so my iphone calendar will be a day or two old.... at work, i'll use gmail and google calendars. for contacts, that is totally in mobileme/iphone now. for email, i have gmail forwarding to mobileme, but i'm using gmail (web) during the day. for calendars - as this post suggests, google still wins hands down. if google offers a push service, i'm afraid to say that mobileme's only saving grace will be its contacts. right now google contacts is as good as mobileme calendar, which is not so much. you'd think the two would play nicely together, since the google founder sits on apples board.
