Synch AND Stream?

Here's something I have yet to figure out the possibilities for. Does anyone know if it is possible to BOTH Synch AND Stream and apple TV with a single PC at the same time?

Why you ask? Because the family units would prefer to order and buy and download stuff directly on the ATV. I would like all of this purchased and downloaded stuff to be sent to my itunes media center pc for safe keeping automatically (hence, the need for synch). However, I'd also like each of the house ATV's to have instant access to everything on the media center (1TB)...(hence the stream).

So far, I have been unable to get my ATV to find shared itunes stuff via streaming, from the same computer it is synched too...

an I missing something simple, or is this much harder than it should be?

you are missing something. you should be able to stream everything from your synced computer. make sure you have checked marked everything that you want to stream.

You can do both. In iTunes, click on "Apple TV" under Devices and make sure that the "Show only the synced items on my Apple TV" box is unchecked.
