I know I'm a pain, but I can't update my iPod from my Mac. It was previously connected to a PC, but now it's out of my hands. How do I get my iPod to now synch to my iMac?

If you don't want to keep the music on it, just sync it with iTunes and say you'd like to link it to your new iMac.
If you want to recover the music on it, to copy onto your Mac, download a copy of Senuti (as it's free), then run this application and copy your music off your iPod, then sync it with iTunes as above.
