Syncing and Streaming problems

Lately I have been having problems with both syncing and streaming.

Syncing - I choose a few movies to sync since I have the 40GB and can't sync them all. When I go to view, it acts like it is streaming by buffering or something. I'll quit iTunes and try to resync. Says that it's done and I still get the buffering.

This is the most annoying problem because of the buffering. Can't watch ANY shows.

Streaming - Constantly buffering. I have the Linksys wireless g and I think it's either that or my neighbor is getting on my network.

Ok, this is weird. I quit iTunes and tried it again. Nope, nothing.

So I connected to a new iTunes and this time there is only Photos showing up to share/sync. No music, movies, tv shows etc.

Trying a factory restore now.

Did the factory restore, updated the software and still only Photos are showing up. Connected to a new iTunes, same thing.

Syncing TV shows or movies takes time over a g network, especially there are other g networks interfering with you. How long do you wait before giving up?

Try syncing only one movie of less than 1GB size.

I've been having similar problems with my AppleTV. It takes a lifetime to upload one 700mb movie and most of the time I can't stream anything cos it spends all its time buffering. I've tried everything, even using different a different router.

I have found that, typically, the easiest way to "fix" this kind of problem -- both a painfully slow sync, as well as long buffering times -- is to shut everything off, then turn it all back on.

My theory has something to do with thr router screwing up. Apple Airports are not immune to this, but Linksys are notorious for messing up.

So, before freaking, try shutting the computer, the router, and the TV down for 30 seconds or so. Then turn them all back on, router first.

This is definitely a router issue. Try changing channels, using interefence robustness, etc.

And try the shutdown restart I outlined.

No no, I've tried EVERTHING, including trying out a different router. My network has always, and is, completely fine. It's just the AppleTV that is having problems. Shutting everything down does actually work...for a few hours, sometimes even a day and then I'm back to square one. The only thing I haven't tried is a different AppleTV so now I'm now trying to get a replacement from Apple but it seems they're denying AppleTV even existed.
