syncing aol contacts to ipad

hello folks, my father just bought his first apple product, an iPad

he uses AOL and we wanted to find out if it was possible to transfer his AOL contacts to the iPad for email use. does anyone have an easy clear cut way. we already set up the mail account. please help! thanks!

I don't know how to do this, sorry.

But there's lots of info on the Web about switching from AOL to specific other email providers, such as gmail:
