Hey everyone,

I have my music stored on an external harddrive, which I obviously don't have with me all the time.
Sometime I want to sync just calenders, or contacts or notes on my iPhone. Is there a way to just sync those things and leave the music on my iPhone unaffected?

When I conntect my iPhone to iTunes and uncheck the "sync Music" option, it tells me this will delete all the music from my iPhone, but when I leave it checked, it won't find the music while syncing because the external harddrive is not conntected and I'm also left with no music on my iPhone.

I have an iPhone 3GS running 4.2.1 (jailbroken).

Any help is appreciated!

I've never tried this, but you might try "Manually Manage Music And Videos, on the summary page. That feature allows you to drag and drop music from iTunes to your phone and it just might do what you want.

Create a email account with a service that uses exchange (Gmail or Hotmail for example).

Setup this account as an exchange account on your phone, and then your calendar and contacts are synced over the air to it, no need to ever manually sync via wired connection.

Thank you, that worked!

That's a great idea, I'll try it, thank you!
