I had tried to sync MobileMe with Outlook on my work PC, but it wasn't working. It only synced some of my contacts to Outlook. I erased what it did sync from Outlook, and then those contacts were deleted from MobileMe (oops). The only place the contacts still remain is on my Mac, but when it tries to sync, the only option I have is to allow those contacts to be erased from my Mac or to cancel the sync. How can I get those contacts back in the "cloud" without manually reentering them?

For now, I've just been canceling the sync from my Mac when the 'more than 5%' warning pops up.

Step 1 in address book (on your mac) find back up and make a back up of your contacts.

then go to mobile me options and look at advanced options in the sync part. there you can choose to replace the cloud info with the mac info. BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU CHOOSE THE SYNC DIRECTION. so you dont replace your mac info with the empty cloud data.

oh and sometimes the data is synced on outlook but isnt in the same place as the info you may be looking at. open folders in outlook and look everywhere.

Thanks. I'll look into that when I get home. The only problem I foresee having is that I add items to my calendar many times a day for work, and when I get home tonight there will be calendar items in the cloud, and on my iPhone, that won't be on my Mac. So, I'll need to avoid erasing the calendar items I've added today.

I doubt there's any problem with the sync services....

The sync as of today is completely horrible on the PC front and my data is spilled in Outlook in some really stupid folders that Outlook has constructed on its own... Whats worse is that any attempt in repairing the damage is synced back to my Macs and thats far more devastating!

Conclusion: look up and you'll find the data!

I realized you can just replace certain info on the cloud from the Mac, so I don't need to worry about losing calendar data.

As far as cloud syncing with Outlook, I think I'm just going to give up on it and stick with the online MobileMe interface on my work PC. It has a much better UI than Outlook even if it is a bit slow right now.
