I am about to get a new iphone from my apple store so I need to back up my contacts. When I try to sync my phone to save my iphone contacts in my address book it says it will add 137 and delete 15. I hit cancel because I dont want 15 contacts to get deleted I want to save all my contacts so when I get my new iphone I can just sync and have my contacts back. I cant afford to loose 15 contacts because they might be important contacts. Any suggestions?

Syncing Contacts with Address Book Windows XP

There should be an option to merge the addresses, rather than have one device override the other. Have a look at your iTunes settings (I don't have iTunes on this computer, so I can't check for you).
you could set your phone to sync with a yahoo address book as an additional backup, then set up iTunes to "Replace information on this iPhone" for your contacts, that way it won't try to delete your computer's contacts if you've deleted some from the iPhone, and you still have your yahoo backup just in case.

Not sure if you are trying to save address's on a current cell phone or transfer your contacts to your cell phone as a back up. Also...what address program are you using? iTunes does not back up or do anything with contacts, it is only the conduit to transfer them from phone to address book.
For anyone to assist you, we need to know from what source to what source and what type of address book you are running on your computer.
If all of your address's are already on your computer, for example, outlook...then you can back-up your address book in outlook by exporting. I always recommend backing up your address's monthly just in case an update or something wipes out your address's on your phone.
