Hello,

I am using Microsoft Outlook (running Gmail as IMAP) as my default email client on my MacBook Pro running Catalina. I use the default "Contacts" app for all my contacts as it syncs with my iPhone smoothly. I, however, face issue on my MBP as Outlook address book isn't updated therefore, I have to go to "Contacts" app to get the required email address. I was wondering is there is a way manual or automatic where if "Contacts" app is updated, Outlook address gets updated as well. Thanks in Advance.

I'm having the same issue. Mac Mail has been crashing a lot lately despite rebuilding the database. I'm using Outlook now but I don't know of a good way to sync Outlook/365 with Mac Contacts.

As far as I know there is no way to synchronize Outlook's contacts with Apple's built-in contacts. Outlook has its own address book, its own calendar, and basically its own everything. It's a largely autonomous application made for connecting to Exchange servers and hosted Exchange services.

I have had the same interest since my iPhone 3 and I have never found a solution that works, some of the suggestions I have googled (and tried) just led to duplicated contacts or messed up contacts so i have resigned myself to having 2 sets of contacts that are independent of each other 1) Apple Contacts that can sync wirth iOS and 2) Outlook contacts that I can use for emails lists and other mostly work related tasks such as calendar invites with windows users

V-Cards Can Help - Now when I add a new contact to one of the 2 contact apps I drag the new contact to the macOS "desk top" to create a v-card and then use "open with" to open the v-card with the other app - - it is manual and tedious but it works

A side benefit is having 2 separate contact data bases is kind of a "back up" - I have over 4500 contacts in both apps that don't exactly match but are pretty close copies
