I added a ton of songs to My Music on my Mac. But these songs aren't syncing up & being added to the Music app on my iPhone.

When I had Spotify, any time I added a song/album/made playlist/did anything, it would also sync & update whatever it was on the iPhone app as well.

I'm signed into iCloud of course, and I've looked at some of the settings on both my Mac iTunes and iPhone and I still can't figure this out.

Is iTunes showing the disconnected cloud icon?:
Unable to access your iCloud Music Library. Click to retry.

If it is, iTunes won't be syncing data with Apple Music currently. We're discussing it over on Apple Discussions and the Apple tech team are aware of the issue. It doesn't seem to affect a lot of people though.

I haven't gotten that message.

And I should also mention: that if I add an album/song from my iPhone, it will sync with my iTunes on my Mac immediately. But not the other way around.

I had the problem the other way around, what helped for me was signing in and out of iTunes.

I just signed in & out of iTunes. I thought all the songs I added last night were gone but I had to go into preferences & check off 'iCloud Music Library - access your songs & playlists from all your devices' and then they showed up in my iTunes again. Now there's some type of activity going on in the corner (pic below) and it seems to be related to all of my non-iTunes/non-streamable songs that I've had downloaded for a long time.

Regardless, none of this seemed to fix anything because I just deleted an album, but went to my iPhone and it was still there. I even closed the app completely & re-opened but it was still there - therefore didn't sync at all.

Finally, fixed with help of Apple chat rep. In case anyone else has this problem, here's what seemed to solve it:

Had to sign out of iTunes on both my iPhone and Mac. Also was told to go to General > Reset > Reset All Settings on my iPhone. Once I signed back in some basic preferences were gone (no Touch ID, forgot WiFI password) but it wasn't a huge deal. It doesn't wipe out your device or anything. Got back on WiFi, went to settings and signed into iTunes on my iPhone. Then I went to Settings > Apple Music > switched on "iCloud Music Library") and did the same by checking the box in iTunes > Preferences > General > checking "iCloud Music Library" (which will also make all your streamable/saved songs re-appear in iTunes in case you panicked & noticed them missing after you signed back in). Wait about 1 minute to see them all show up again. Shouldn't take long. Then I tested to see if it synced when I added an album on my computer, and then I looked at my phone a few seconds later it also showed the new album in the Music app.
